New Music: Unofficial "Comeback songs" from JT and Destiny's Child

It seems like 2013 is going to be the year of the "hey, I'm still here" single.

Almost two weeks ago, Destiny's Child announced that they would be releasing a new single, which would be part of their Love Songs album. The album is going to be made up of their most romantic singles, released between 1997 and 2004.

The song makes for some easy listening, as it is devoid of any serious vocal theatrics or an overwhelming club/ dance music beat, which can be heard on almost any of the popular songs by female artists on today's charts.

I must admit that I was a little bored of the song halfway through it (I felt like there was nothing going- nothing to keep my attention), but I'm willing to give it a chance to grow on me. It is Destiny's Child, after all.

Before music lovers had even recovered from the news of a new Destiny's Child single, word came out that Justin Timberlake was going to release a brand new single as well.
I thought "finally!", because his whole "I'm going to go focus on acting" thing hasn't been sitting well with me at all.

When I first heard it, I thought "oh, Robin Thicke has a new song- cool". Well, it turns it wasn't Robin Thicke at all, but Mr Sexyback himself, collaborating with Jay-Z on Suit and Tie:

This one is going to take some getting used to as well. The tune is catchy enough, but there doesn't seem to be much else going on. I suppose I had very high expectations of one of my most favourite musicians' foray back into music after a long break.

I wonder if there are more people who are as difficult to impress as I am in this matter?
